BOTOX® Cosmetic / Dysport®

ERASING LINES AND WRINKLES

Dr. Andrew Amunategui, M.D. | MediSpa | BOTOX® | Chemical PeelsNeuromodulators are among the most popular and effective anti-aging treatments available to day. These FDA approved therapies work by relaxing and weakening contracted muscles to smooth away lines and wrinkles. With Dr. Amunategui’s artistic touch, they can also be
used to gently lift a sagging brow and to create a more ideal eyebrow arch.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow’s feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® relaxes wrinkles and gives the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Dysport®

Dysport is an FDA-approved injection used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, the same protein used in Botox injections.

Chemical Peels

Dr. Andrew Amunategui, M.D. | MediSpa | BOTOX® | Chemical PeelsChemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.

Cosmetic Fillers

PROMOTING YOUTHFUL CONTOURS

Since facial fat dissipates and migrates as we age, replacing it is one of the most effective treatments we can choose to slow and reverse the effects of time. New bio-compatible injectable fillers are available in a variety of thicknesses and formulations offering tremendous versatility for restoring youthful volume and contouring the face.

Dermabrasion

Dr. Andrew Amunategui, M.D. | MediSpa | BOTOX® | Chemical PeelsDermabrasion is the removal of the outer layers of the skin with a high-speed rotary sanding wheel. Topical creams or injections are usually used for anesthesia. Dermabrasion is particularly effective for treating creases around the mouth and for acne scars with sharp edges that cast shadows. Unlike chemical peels or laser resurfacing, it cannot be used around the eyes.

Laser Hair Removal

Hair removal is a constant worry for many men and women alike. For patients who are sick of the hassle associated with shaving, waxing and other temporary hair removal techniques, laser hair removal may be the solution for you. Laser hair removal exposes specific areas of the body to beams of laser light that disable active hair follicles and delay or prevent re-growth.

Laser hair removal is ideal for patients with dark hair and light skin, although nearly anyone with unwanted facial or body hair can benefit from this procedure. This procedure can be performed on the lip, chin, neck, back, arms, legs, bikini area and more.

Permanent Makeup (Micropigmentation)

Micropigmentation, or permanent makeup, can improve a person’s appearance in a variety of ways, from eyebrow, eyelash and lip enhancement to scar and blemish camouflage to nipple/areola coloration following breast reconstruction. FDA-approved, allergy-tested dyes are made of mineral extracts and can be tinted to match the patient’s skin tone as closely as possible. The dyes are injected into the skin using micro-needles after the application of a topical anesthesia, with procedures lasting as little as 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. Results are visible immediately, although more than one session may be required for larger areas or touch-ups. Most patients are fully recovered within 24 hours. Contact lenses, makeup and direct sunlight should be avoided for the first few days.
